This was not made without a reason. I found NACA paper from 1940 that recommends installation of cowling as close as possible to the propeller to maximize airflow and internal pressure.

Fully aware. Another option is to use commercial service like https://cleantalk.org/, this is 7/8 $ per site per year, perhaps worth considering in these circumstances.

Personally I don't think it was strong. Now it is a real challenge to find more balanced and respectful statements than on aviation forums, over entire internet

There are two videos that show the applicable effect. Notice how with power applied, big droplets get fractioned into small particles which stay on the windshield.

Generally NAY7B is ready for inverted flight, as long as fuel is supplied to the float chamber. Low pressure created by moving pistons and supercharger will draw fuel from there, through discharge nozzle. With gravity feed, engine will quit, with mechanical pump it should not.
